2009 Half Marathon Pacers

Tony Alt - 1:40 Pacer 

Tony is a recreational runner that enjoys training just as much as races. This will be his 6th time pacing the half marathon distance, but first time for this specific race. Tony enjoys training for and racing in local triathlons and adventure races. He plans to run the first few miles slow to warm up, re-gain time during the middle miles and run mostly even splits towards the end, varying with the elevation. He enjoys pacing because the atmosphere is fun and he enjoys helping and seeing people accomplish their goals.
Josh Hubbard - 1:45 Pacer 

Josh is an avid runner and has raced the Olathe half marathon several times. He most recently completed the Gobbler Grind Marathon with a PR of 3:20, and is currently training for a couple of half marathons this Spring/Summer and the Marine Corps Marathon in the Fall. Josh can’t wait to help others reach their goals using the smart pacing strategy.
Frances Fields - 1:50 Pacer 

Frances Fields is a 3 time Boston Qualifier and a accomplished Triathlete. Frances has ran 7 marathons and competed in numerous triathlons over the past 10 plus years. Her favorite distance in the half-marathon and she is excited to pace the Olathe race for the first time in 2010. Frances is also a single mother to s 6 year old and sells Real Estate to pay the bills.
Bryan LeBar- 1:55 Pacer 

Bryan LeBar has been running ever since he took “The Marathon Class” in college and completed his first marathon. Bryan has completed numerous half-marathons and several marathons. Bryan looks forward to helping runners achieve their goal time while keeping spirits high.
Margi Wilson - 2:00 Co-Pacer 

Margi is excited to help you reach your goal and help you cross that line at 1:59:59! As a mother of four, she has managed to run 7 marathons qualifying for Boston 6 times. Margi has paced the 2:00 half twice before this, including last year's Olathe 1/2. She is a veteran of 8 half marathons with a PR of 1:42, and this will be her 4th time pacing this distance. We'll have a great time running a terrific race at the Olathe Half Marathon!
Kelly Cannova - 2:00 Co-Pacer 

As a runner for 18 years, Kelly has completed 3 marathons and over half a dozen half marathons with PRs of 3:32, and 1:38, respectively. She enjoyed pacing the Kansas City Half Marathon in 2009. Helping others reach their running goals was a truly rewarding experience. She is confident that you will have FUN on the way to reaching your goal of 2:00!
Shannon Zaiser - 2:05 Pacer 

Shannon has been running competitively for about 5 years. She has completed several half marathon, 10K, and 5K distances as well as duathalons and adventure races. The Half Marathon is her favorite distance and is currently holding a PR at 1:44 coming in the Indianapolis half marathon in October of 2009. Although this race will be her first real "pacing" opportunity she is looking forward to meeting new people and motivating them to achieve their personal goals. Come join her for an awesome run and lots of fun!
Grete Herman Ruder- 2:10 Pacer 

Grete is an avid runner, with 2 completed marathons and looks forward to striving to qualify for Boston in 2010. Grete is a true motivator, doing whatever it takes to help a fellow runner find their inner strength to finish, even if it means being a little goofy! If you're looking for an edge, an ally, and an amazing pacer, Grete is your girl!
Carly Farrell - 2:15 Pacer 

Carly is a family law attorney who loves to be active and do triathlons and distance running. She has most fun training in a group, especially her women's running group, Sports Bras 2 Sports Bars. Carly is personally training for her first Ironman triathlon, to be held in August 2010 and is delighted to help a group of people in reaching their goal at the Olathe 1/2 marathon in April.
Megan Mansfield - 2:20 Pacer 

Megan is an active participant in many KC area runs, triathlons and adventure races. This will be her 3rd time pacing the half marathon distance. She enjoys training for events and the social aspect of racing. The 2:20 pace team is guaranteed to have fun!
Stephanie Letourneau - 2:25 Pacer 

This is Stephanie’s 1st time pacing the Olathe 1/2 Marathon. She has paced the Kansas City Marathon and the Hostpital Hill Run half marathon three times and also paced the Little Rock Marathon. Stephanie uses the smart pacing strategy that takes into account the terrain; the first couple of miles will be used to warm up, starting on the conservative side so the group can finish strong. She will use a run walk method. Basically run a mile and then walk a minute and will also walk at all aid stations to make sure everyone stays hydrated. Her goal is to encourage this pace group to run strong, have fun and finish under 2:25
Jennifer Fox - 2:30 Pacer 

Jennifer Fox will be a first-time pacer for the 2:30 half-marathon. Since her introduction to running three years ago, she has completed 2 sprint triathlons, 5 half-marathons and her first marathon with Team in Training in May 09, finding some wonderful friends along the journey. Her most recent race was the Las Vegas Rock ‘n Roll half marathon in Dec 09. Jennifer is also a member of KC Express women’s running group and teaches Pilates and yoga part-time.
