Help city celebrate rail elevation project Friday; Sen. Pat Roberts to speak
Come rain or come shine, the City will go forward with its train elevation ceremony and celebration at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, at the Ridgeview crossing (south side). In case of inclement weather, there will be a tent. Street parking will be available. The ceremony will mark near completion of the railroad elevation project. The second and final set of railroad tracks was open to train traffic March 28. Work continues on the decorative towers at the Santa Fe crossing and on lowering the roads at Park and Loula. U.S. Senator Pat Roberts will attend the ceremony. Roberts was instrumental in securing Federal funding for this project.

CVB hopes to deal a winning hand with new Tourism Week campaign
Mark the date and let us know if you'd like to be involved. The Chamber's Convention & Visitors Bureau is planning a Poker Run during National Tourism Week, May 14-15, from 4 to 8 p.m. The event will highlight Olathe hotels and meeting venues. Festivities will include food, drink, poker and prizes! If your company holds off-site meetings and/or arranges overnights for associates, clients or vendors, you won't want to miss this opportunity to check out your options: Olathe Is a Great Draw! If you or someone else in your organization handles these responsibilities, please let us know. Contact Susan Taylor at 913-764-1050, ext. 232, or by e-mail staylor@olathe.org, and we will include them on the invitation list.
