The Olathe Sports Commission, formed in 2001as Olathe Sports Advisory Council, helps market Olathe as the site of national championships and other sporting events. It assists with the development of marketing initiatives and the organization of tournaments. Its mission, as stated in the Chamber's Business Plan, is:

To promote and ensure successful, quality sporting events that provide a positive and memorable experience for everyone involved
